Daily Zodiac Game: Guess Today's Mystery Sign
One of the twelve zodiac signs is hiding, and it is the same one for every player today. You have six guesses. Every guess earns you four honest clues — whether the element matches, whether the ruling planet matches, whether the modality matches, and where the mystery sign sits in the zodiac year compared with your pick. No astrology knowledge is required; the clues teach the basics as you play. A new mystery sign arrives every day at midnight UTC.
The short answer: Daily Zodiac is Lucky Stars Daily's guessing game: one mystery zodiac sign a day, six guesses, and four clues per guess — element, ruling planet, modality and season — to narrow the twelve signs down to one.

How to play Daily Zodiac
- Pick any sign. Tap one of the twelve — a hunch, your own sign, anything. That counts as guess one.
- Read the four clues. Each guess tells you whether its element, ruling planet and modality match the mystery sign's, and whether the mystery sign comes earlier or later in the zodiac year.
- Narrow the wheel. Twelve signs share only four elements and three modalities, so two or three good guesses usually corner the answer. Signs you have already tried grey out.
- Six guesses, one sign. Find it and the game introduces the sign properly — dates, element, rulers and character. Run out of guesses and it still does; the zodiac keeps no grudges.
The four clues, explained
Element is the sign's family: fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) are sparks and appetites; earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) are builders; air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) live in the mind and the message; water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) run on feeling and intuition. Ruling planet is the celestial body traditional astrology assigns to the sign — match it and you have usually narrowed the field to one or two signs, because only Mercury and Venus each rule two. Modality is how a sign moves: cardinal signs start things, fixed signs sustain them, mutable signs adapt and finish. Every element contains exactly one sign of each modality, which is what makes the clues combine so well. The season clue uses the zodiac's calendar order, which runs Aries through Pisces across the year.
| Sign | Dates | Element | Ruled by | Modality |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ♈ Aries | March 21 – April 19 | Fire | Mars | Cardinal |
| ♉ Taurus | April 20 – May 20 | Earth | Venus | Fixed |
| ♊ Gemini | May 21 – June 20 | Air | Mercury | Mutable |
| ♋ Cancer | June 21 – July 22 | Water | the Moon | Cardinal |
| ♌ Leo | July 23 – August 22 | Fire | the Sun | Fixed |
| ♍ Virgo | August 23 – September 22 | Earth | Mercury | Mutable |
| ♎ Libra | September 23 – October 22 | Air | Venus | Cardinal |
| ♏ Scorpio | October 23 – November 21 | Water | Pluto & Mars | Fixed |
| ♐ Sagittarius | November 22 – December 21 | Fire | Jupiter | Mutable |
| ♑ Capricorn | December 22 – January 19 | Earth | Saturn | Cardinal |
| ♒ Aquarius | January 20 – February 18 | Air | Uranus & Saturn | Fixed |
| ♓ Pisces | February 19 – March 20 | Water | Neptune & Jupiter | Mutable |
Why the season clue works
The zodiac is a calendar before it is anything else: the signs take turns ruling roughly a month each, in a fixed order that starts with Aries at the spring equinox. That is why the season clue can point you forwards or backwards with confidence — if you guess Taurus and learn the mystery sign comes later in the year, ten signs remain; add an element match and the field collapses to a handful. Players who read the daily horoscope every morning tend to develop a feel for this order without trying, which is the game's quiet agenda: after a week of Daily Zodiac, the wheel's structure simply lives in your head.
Frequently asked questions
Is the mystery sign the same for everyone?
Yes. The day's sign is chosen by a formula seeded with the date, so every player gets the same mystery sign on the same day, and a fresh one at midnight UTC.
What does the ruling planet clue mean?
Every sign has a traditional ruler — Mars for Aries, Venus for Taurus and Libra, and so on. The clue matches if your guess and the mystery sign share a ruler at all: Scorpio counts both Pluto and Mars, Aquarius both Uranus and Saturn, and Pisces both Neptune and Jupiter.
Do I need to know astrology to play Daily Zodiac?
No. The four clues do the teaching: after a few days you will know which signs are fire and which are fixed without ever studying a chart. The table on this page lists every sign's element, ruler and modality if you want the shortcut.
When does a new mystery sign appear?
Every day at midnight UTC. Finish today's in six guesses or fewer and the streak is yours to brag about; miss, and the sign is revealed anyway so you learn it for next time.
